The best way to access the city's golf facilities is through the HKTA's Sports and Recreation Tour, which organizes tours to various golf clubs at a reasonable fee. The tour gives visitors access to the private 18-hole Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club course and the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling, which is reputed to be one of Asia's oldest golf courses. Rock Climbing / Hiking in Hong Kong
Rock ClimbingHong Kong has its share of picturesque mountains and hillsides that await rock climbing enthusiasts. Two choices of either indoor or outdoor climbing gyms are available. Approximately 40 percent of Hong Kong are made into 23 country parks, many of which are threaded with well-marked trails. The perfect therapy for city blues would be to hold barbecues and picnics at sites near the waterfalls and streams. Bowen Road, in Hong Kong Island, is a flat-paved path that goes through tropical foliage with glimpses of the city skyline and is excellent for a relaxing walk or jog. Along the way is Lovers' Rock, a nine meter high granite monolith worshipped by those in search of romance.

The walk around The Peak on Harlech and Lugard roads offers spectacular views of the harbor, Aberdeen, and the outlying islands. This 3.5km stroll takes about 45 minutes to complete. Lantau Trail, on the other hand, is a 70km path that displays Hong Kong's rugged landscape and some superb views. The trail is divided into 12 stages, with Stage 4 starting near the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. Visitors can call the HKTA Visitor Hotline for additional information or view the HKTA free Five Walks brochure.

For ardent cyclists, the Tolo Harbour Cycling Track, which runs from Sha Tin to Tai Po, is worth a try as it is safe, easy, and scenic. Rental bikes are available at the track.
